VISUAL ARTS: COLOUR

VISUAL ARTS: COLOUR

This is our last cross- curricular project we did in our English class.

First we watched a video of a painter talking about types of colours, contrasts and some other techniques. We did some exercises about the video. There, we tried to distinguish between primary and secondary colours, warm and cool colours...
Then after our teacher showed us two very different pictures and we tried to find the differences, so we answered questions like: What colours are there in the painting?, Are the colours warm or cool?, Is there a contrast in the painting?....., we also practice picture descriptions. We used different prepositions to situate things and we learnt a lot of adjectives to describe people or landscapes.
Finally, for homework, we had to look for an artwork we liked, bring it the next class and describe it to our partners.
The funniest thing was when our teacher told us to draw the picture and she called that: INTERPRETING AN ARTWORK. Some people were really good at drawing their pictures, some others were a bit " original" with their interpretations. Here we show you some of our ARTWORKS with the originals. Will you be able to know what is what?
